Laird Visit

When we were in CT, we went to Milford to visit Katie and Andrew and their son, Jack.  In my album of vacation pictures, I didn't have great ones from our visit.  Andrew sent me his today and they are cute so I figured I'd upload separately.

Jack kept running into my arms and giving me a big hug.  It was adorable.  Obviously, my kids were jealous so I got the best lap-full of boys in the world!

I love my friend and miss her lots since we only get to see each other a few times a year.  Can't wait to see you again in two months! :)

Thank you so much for having us for a visit!  (And thanks for sending the great pictures!)

Updated old post

In case you're a frequent Kray Happenings follower, I have updated Lincoln's 12 month update:

Trip to CT

We spent some time in Connecticut with Nick's parents and returned home last night.  We had some great visits to see friends we hadn't seen in a while and reintroduced Lincoln to Nick's grandma (he's so different from the last time she saw him, 6 months ago).  And as you'll see in the pictures, the boys had quite a bit of fun. :)  (Click on the picture to see the whole album.)

Water fun on July 4th

Before dinner at the Ganas' house, the kids had some water fun in their front yard...

(Practicing his "floating")

Ready....set....go!

They dove onto the water mat over and over again.  They had a blast!

Lincoln got into the fun and got soaked as well.  (Mommy - why didn't you bring us suits?  I guess there isn't much of a difference between wet clothes and a wet bathing suit....as long as I brought a change of clothes. :))

Lincoln is 12 months!

It's getting harder and harder to get Lincoln to stay still for pictures.  Ben did a good job of containing him for a few shots.  Looking at these pictures makes me laugh because Ben totally doesn't look like himself.  His hair is never plastered down like that...these pictures were taking right after a bath and a hair brushing. :)

Lincoln is 12 months!  I can't believe how much he has learned to do in a year.  First of all, here are his stats from the doctor's appointment:  weight was 24 pounds 10 ounces (75% percentile) and height was 31 1/2 inches (90% percentile).

The biggest update since his 11 month birthday was that he can WALK.  He is almost running.  It happened so fast.  He is loving being able to get around so easily.

He claps all the time, waves pretty consistently, dances when music comes on.  He also has started pointing at everything.  I am not sure if he actually knows what it means (or means something by his pointing), but he will find that out soon enough.

He babbles "mamama" and "dadadad" and "bababa" but so far, they don't have any meaning.

Peek a boo is definitely his favorite game.  He also likes musical instruments, anything with buttons (phone, remote, computer, etc.), and pretty much whatever Ben is playing with.  And he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth.  (This is kind of different from Ben so it's new for me and very annoying.  Can't wait until that stage passes!)

He's still into everything and now that he's walking, it's even more difficult.  If he can reach it...he will. And then he will get mad when you take it away!

I tried a week of one nap and he seemed a little cranky.  I went back to two naps, but we take some liberties with the naps depending on what's going on.  I'm still looking forward to a consistent one-napper but I alway to make sure he gets the sleep he needs.  Maybe next month!

Lincoln is a great eater.  I try to give him at least a portion of whatever we are having for dinner.  I'm pretty much done with purees (although sometimes I give them to him to make sure he's eating enough veges).  The amount he eats depends on his mood, but all in all, he eats a good variety of food.  We have transitioned him completely to whole milk and I'm in the process of transitioning away from a bottle.  As usual with him, his attention span for a bottle is getting shorter and shorter.  He's doing great with the sippy cup and didn't seem to notice the switch to milk.

I can't believe the first year is behind us.  What an adorable, happy toddler Lincoln has become right in front of our eyes.  I love watching him learn about the world around him.  He and Ben are starting to interact more and more and all I can say about that is - watch out Ben! haha.  Lincoln will be the "tough" one on this relationship! :)

Happy happy birthday Lincy!  We love you so much.  Thanks for keeping Mommy on her toes. :)

Lincoln's Birthday Cake (the actual day of)

We had a pretty normal day for Lincoln's actual birthday...especially since we had his party 12 days before.  We went to the pool and Auntie Jen came up.  We had pasta for dinner, which both kids inhaled and then we had some birthday cake!

I made two little heart shaped cakes and a dozen cupcakes with "1"s on them.  Ben insisted on adding the sprinkles.  He was so excited to help (and pretty excited to get cake again so soon)!

Lincoln was already a bit of a mess from the pasta...couldn't decide which picture was the cutest. :)

Happy birthday to Lincoln! (again :))
